Ko Phi Phi

While the girls dove I climbed up little outcrops, trying not to shred my fingers and shoes on ocean-sharpened limestone fins and oyster shells. Jellyfish were always appearing under me as I prepared to jump back down, but I never did get stung. Betsy surfaced under one by accident but managed to dodge the tentacles.
On our first day in kayaks Betsy kicked a sharp shell and opened a gash in her foot that took the rest of the trip to heal. The blood didn't attract any sharks though.

Our bungalows were as quiet as it gets on phi phi and there were bedbugs in the walls but Betsy and Emily were in scuba diving paradise and spent three days playing with the fish while I tried to step back from it all and stay out of the sun.
